Indiana Main Street honored the Walt Moss Barber Shop and Fortune Companies, Inc. with the 2012 Best Historic Rehabilitation Project Award during the statewide Indiana Main Street Conference, held in downtown Kokomo.
The entire roof collapsed on the Walt Moss Barber shop which initiated the massive renovation project.
The City of Kokomo, the Greater Kokomo Downtown Association, the Greater Kokomo Economic Development Alliance, and Fortune Companies Inc. came together to help relocate the business until the restoration was complete.
Fortune Companies Inc. worked their magic, and the interior and exterior work was completed on the structure to bring the 1930’s style barber shop back to life.
