Completed in Oct of 2014, this design build project was a renovation/addition to a historic high school in Logansport, Indiana. The existing historic school was renovated into 8 apartment units and a new addition, containing 30 apartment units including the required amount of ADA accessible units. The 3-story addition was constructed at the rear of the school on the existing 1.45 acre site. The project was a tax credit application through IHCDA and was developed by Crestline Communities.
The project has been submitted for LEED Silver status under USGBC guidelines.
Brenner proposed a double loaded corridor for the new addition with a mixture of one and two bedroom units. The units were designed either as accessible or as convertible depending on the tenant mix. The layout included an open kitchen concept and integrated laundry. The project included amenities such as a community room, office and exterior rain garden for the tenants’ enjoyment.
