Awarded the prestigious “Stellar Community Pilot Grant”, Greencastle, Indiana proposed quality of life improvements to integrate the cultural and intellectual assets of their city and position the city as a regional center for economic development. A collaboration between OCRA, INDOT, IHCDA, IFA, and USDA Rural Greencastle began the process to revitalize it’s downtown area and strengthen it’s link with DePauw University. Diana Brenner assisted with planning and implementation with the City of Greencastle in 2010 through an initial IOCRA-CFF grant. Studies identified community needs, structurally at-risk buildings, historic preservation needs, retail business, and economic initiatives and proposed comprehensive signage and parking solutions.
